Committee Duties

The St. James Calderone Theatre project will require the efforts of members who are committed to promoting the cultural arts and in continuing the revitalization of the hamlet of St. James. The St. James Calderone Theatre Steering Committee is comprised of community leaders that represent a wide range of skills as well as interests. The committee is 100% volunteer, and no one will receive compensation.

One of the first goals of the steering committee is to identify potential donors for various naming opportunities, including the name of the cultural arts center and theatre.

The committee role is to assist in fundraising, marketing and day to day duties such as processing donations. They will also explore options regarding plans to sustain the building after it is restored, through endowments and community programming. Typically, box office revenue supports a portion of a theatre’s operating costs. The committee will be tasked with developing an ongoing revenue stream to create an endowment for maintenance and operating expenses,  and use of the theatre or other spaces for an extended period of time.
